Tasting Hungary

Together with Lotte Gabrovits, student of Master of Wine, who was leading us knowledgeable through the evening and the wine country, we were trying exceptional wines on the 23rd of February – this time from Hungary.

For centuries the best amongst them were the epitome and the example of Europe – a wide range, from dry white wine full of character from Somlo, to red wines full of finesse from the South Hungarian Villany finished by noble sweet Tokajern.

Between blind tastings from now on (no longer) a sensation: Hungarian top wines managed to proof, that they are able to keep up with the exceptional vineyard locations of the world.

Our guests, including many long-term wine experts, agreed unanimously: who is looking for an attractive alternative to wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy or Piemont, can find directly hits in Hungary, with a detailed local knowledge and the adequate contacts with winemakers....and with a small budget as well.
